Mrs. Sawaki lived in the U.S., Canada and Australia for a total of 10 and a half years with her family. Her experience teaching how to make sushi at a high school in Canada led her to study to become a Japanese teacher for foreigners.
She is currently a Japanese instructor authorized by the Society for Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language. She has been teaching Japanese as well as Japanese cooking to expats and their families in Tokyo for more than 7 years.
  Message from Mrs. Sawaki:
When you are in a foreign country, there are many things that you see for the first time in the local supermarkets and food that you’ve never tasted.
After receiving requests from my students on how to cook Japanese ingredients, how to use the spices and different sauces etc., I started my cooking class to introduce Japanese home cooking.
At my class, I would like to introduce different spices and ingredients as well as seasonal vegetables etc., so that you will know what you are buying and how to cook them properly
Requests on what you would like to cook taste are also welcome.
